Park Ridge Pirates Seniors marched into another Grand Final with a resounding win over Jimboomba on Friday Night. Final Scores Park Ridge 14-10-94 to Jimboomba 3-6-24. Senior Coach Ryan Kirk was ecstatic with the win and the way the boys played in the second half in particular. “We have done everything right to give ourselves the best chance of winning back to back Premierships, which will be an enormous feat for our Club”, Kirk stated.
The Club overall has had a terrific season with the U12’s, U14’s & U16’s all making finals and still great possibility of additional silverware to the Club’s Trophy Cabinet. Club President Andy Colenso reiterates “our system obviously works, with most of our Youth Teams playing high Divisions and making finals & our Seniors in a very strong position to cap off another great term.
Another plus for the Pirates this season is the fact that all of our kids that we sent to higher QAFL Level are playing Seniors in that competition. Andy believes that this just goes to show how our coaching structures are working and the kids are all improving, while enjoying the obvious benefits of friendship, teamwork and work ethic. “We don’t need to beat our own drum as the results clearly speak for themselves.”
Next year the Park Ridge Pirates will be committed to getting a Colts (U18) Team up and going, plus getting our Seniors back to Saturday Footy. We believe the local community benefits greatly from the civic pride generated around Saturday afternoon football, from players through to supporters. Along with providing excellent entertainment on a Saturday afternoon!
The Seniors Grand Final game will be played on Friday 30th August 7pm start at Wilston Grange.
