Park Ridge Community Excellence

Park Ridge Community Excellence By Stewart Fleming

There are many support and not-for-profit organisations operating in Logan City that are working in isolation to help communities reach their potential. This is a global issue, seen in every sector but there is a framework that allows organisations to operate autonomously yet still create a Collective Impact. Locally, Logan Together has been using the Collective Impact 3.0 framework to bring over 50 community focused organisations who aim to help 5,000 more Logan kids thrive by age 8.

A few months back, I attended the Logan Together and saw the Collective Impact framework for the first time. Since then I have been introducing this framework to all the organisations that I connect with on a regular basis.
Innov8 Logan is the local organisation that is promoting innovation within the city with a special focus on advanced manufacturing. This organisation currently serves as a backbone, linking schools, manufacturers, start-ups and business support organisations and is a prime target to implement the framework for a stronger innovation ecosystem. You can join the Innov8 Logan newsletter and get information on upcoming event at

The Logan Chamber of Commerce is looking to be a backbone organisation for various vertical industries in the city. The Chamber is using the collective Impact framework as a guide to becoming a backbone organisation, bringing together the automotive industry in Springwood and the Medical industry in Meadowbrook. If these are successful, more industry groups will be created, increasing the reach of Logan Business.
Now it is Park Ridges turn to benefit from the lessons already learnt. I am working with organisations in Park Ridge to create a local backbone which will support all community focused organisations and help provide a Collective Impact for everyone.
