Mazda CX-3 & CX-5 Review

Mazda CX-3 & CX-5 Review

CX-3 – With the style and convenience of a hatch but the roominess and comfort of an SUV, the CX-3 is a great suburban runabout.

It was school holidays at the time of writing and one of my boys and his mates had just discovered ice-skating, so we loaded up and headed to Ice-World. While both the boys I was transporting are taller than 6 foot, they were instantly impressed by the leg room and comfort of the leather seats – which they soon discovered were also heated. They got my iPhone connected via bluetooth and we were off.

With the Barefoot Investor audiobook playing in the background, they pointed out features like the lane-change warning indicator on the side mirrors, the sunroof, 360 degree reverse/parking cameras, driver-assist cruise control, and head-up display. Plus, there was plenty of room for all their gear in the back and the safety and technology features list is endless.

CX-5 – The Mazda CX-5 is simply the best of all worlds. It’s roomy, gutsy, comfortable, efficient and packed with safety and technology enhancements.

Okay, I’m a raving fan. The CX-5 is the first test drive I haven’t wanted to give back. It had the best of all the others rolled into one. It’s got the power of it’s older brothers packed into the size of a family car with the roominess of an SUV and the comfort, safety and technology of a luxury car.

With everything at your fingertips, the CX-5 controls are easy to navigate and get accustomed to. Customising settings is a breeze and the quality Bose sound system produces powerful and well balanced audio. Bluetooth connectivity was solid and worked without a hitch – picking up and playing my audiobook from where I left off every time I entered the vehicle. The power is exhilarating, the ride is comfortable, parking is easy, cruising is a breeze, the interior is quality and its form is stylish.

Mazda’s CX range of SUVs provide something for everyone. It’s worth trying them all but the CX-5 was the standout package for me.

Just stop whatever you’re doing right now and call Browns Plains Mazda (3086 6800) to book a test drive.
