Greenbank Gators Celebrate
a Smashing Season

GSC celebrated the end of its inaugural swim season with their Club Championship Awards Presentation night. The awards night recognised age champion swimmers across the club, along with special awards for Spirit (Riley Kent), Most Improved (Sophie Taylor), Encouragement (Ruby Willcocks) and Coaches Choice (Leila Alexander). The Club’s first Championship event was held on Tuesday, 26 March with swimmers competing for age champion titles, and in the process establishing club records and a number of personal best times.

Everyone enjoyed a relaxed evening with a wide spread of refreshments, while acknowledging the achievements of each and every one of the Club’s swimmers.

GGSC has ended the season on a high note, with two of it’s members qualifying to swim at the recent Queensland School Sport Swimming State Championships. A good number of club members also swam at the preceding District and Regional School Swimming Championships, with one swimmer claiming age champion in the Southern Scorpions District.

A handful of swimmers also recently raced in the Vorgee Brisbane Championships and the McDonalds Brisbane Junior Metropolitan Championships with a number of personal best times achieved.

Over the winter there are still a number of district and regional swim meets scheduled for swimmers who are interested in competing. Club Night will resume in Term 4 on Tuesday, 8 October, with gates opening from 5:45pm for registration of new swimmers.

GGSC welcomes all new members to come along for a try out. Stay up to date at www.facebook.com/greenbankgators
