Salisbury to Beaudesert Rail Corridor Study – Newsletter September 2010

If you’ve been in a Mt Lindesay Hwy traffic jam over the years, you’ve probably wondered why you don’t have the option of using the train, given there is a railway line running parallel to your highway commute. Well a campaign to have the Salisbury to Beaudesert Rail Line built before 2041 has begun with a launch of the Build Salisbury to Beaudesert Rail Line Facebook page by community advocate, Anthony Shorten.

“I have been campaigning for the Salisbury to Beaudesert Rail Line since 2008, both outside and inside government”, Mr Shorten said.

“The S2B rail link is another infrastructure project that has been talked about for years, but it’s now critical to deliver it.”

Long term Logan West residents disillusioned by previous attempts to get action on this project, may be encouraged by the momentum being gathered through social media this time around. The Facebook page which was started in early February 2019, has gathered nearly 1000 followers and is growing fast.

“The fact that this page has grown so fast shows that the community knows what it wants and knows that it is well overdue.” Mr Shorten said.
