Park Ridge Connect offers non-religious, open meetings for family members and friends affected by addiction, personality disorders, and high-demand groups. These meetings are open to those in the Logan West community and provide an opportunity to talk and listen to others in a non-judgemental, safe environment. A mental health professional will be facilitating the meetings.

SUPPORT GROUP FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF ADDICTS

Are you family or a friend caring for someone with an addiction? Support for caring family and friends is essential in the face of addictions that are harming the addict and those around them.

These meetings are not intended for the addicts themselves.

When: The 2nd and 4th Tuesday nights of the month, 7pm-9pm.

SUPPORT GROUP FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF THOSE WITH PERSONALITY DISORDERS

People with personality disorders can behave in extreme ways that can place a heavy burden on those around them. Behaviours such as frequent mood swings, extreme dependence on other people, narcissism (extreme vanity), continu-ally stormy personal relationships, social isolation, angry outbursts without any good reason, unfounded suspicion and mistrust of others, difficulty making friends, a need for instant gratification, poor impulse control, alcohol or substance abuse.

You may be a family member of friend of someone with borderline personality disorder, narcissistic personality dis- order, schizotypal personality disorder, or any of the other types of personalities that cause emotional and relational damage to you and your family.

These meetings are not intended for those with personality disorders.

When: The 3rd Tuesday night of the month, 7pm-9pm.

 
 

SUPPORT GROUP FOR VICTIMS OF SPIRITUAL ABUSE OR HIGH DEMAND GROUPS (CULTS)

A support group for those who have come out of high demand/high control groups, cults, or spiritually abusive relationships. These groups may have been “spiritual”, “religious”, “political”, “family”, “philosophical”, and are typically held together by charismatic leaders demanding total commitment and using manipulative techniques of control.

When: The 1st Tuesday night of the month, 7pm-9pm.
